Job Title: Project Agent – Reactive Maintenance
Location: St Austell
Salary: £38,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience) & Company Van
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (45 hours per week), overtime available
Due to ongoing successful contracts and as we continue to expand, we’re seeking a dynamic and proactive Project Agent / Site Manager to assist in delivering our fast-paced reactive maintenance projects.
Working from our Cornwall-based depot, successful candidates would play a key role in organising the delivery of reactive and fast-track planned schemes on wastewater infrastructure across the south west. As a Project Agent / Site Manager for Reactive Maintenance works, you’ll oversee day-to-day Team Management, ensuring quick response times, quality delivery, and cost-effective solutions whilst ensuring high standards of Health & Safety. Reporting to the Project Manager, you’ll also manage direct labour/supply chain partners, coordinate logistics, and ensure all works meet safety and compliance standards.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate/supervise the safe and effective delivery of multiple civils/utilities sites associated with drainage networks. Works include repairs on shallow/deep drainage in both highway and private land on Gravity & pressurised pipes.
- Assist in project planning, including coordination with highways and public authorities, resource allocation, and materials management.
- Conduct site visits to assist with scoping projects to a good standard, working closely alongside the Project Manager to monitor and update changes as necessary.
- Have a strong knowledge of H&S requirements through project delivery, including being able to ensure compliance with PUWER, LOLER, RAMS, Temporary works & CDM documentation preparation.
- Maintain and update site records, ensuring detailed and accurate reports and documentation are completed.
- Conduct Regular Site inspections & Audits.
- Ensure prompt and timely responses, project KPI’s/SLA’s & Maintain strong communication with clients to provide updates and resolve issues promptly.
- Use of computer software (predominantly Microsoft Office) to produce site documentation, close-down documents, workflow productivity reports and general work management monitoring systems.
- Be part of a standby by rota and ensure the business unit maintains a successful response period for OOHs.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in site management within wastewater infrastructure (preference), utilities, or construction.
- Experience in ensuring smooth operational delivery on both simple and complex engineering sites, including on/off hire processes.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Be able to manage subcontractors & supply chain
- Ability to manage multiple sites simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
- Relevant qualifications (not limited to) – SSSTS, Street works Supervisor, Confined space, Temporary works Supervisor, Deep Excavation, Cat & Genny
Relevant experience in the wastewater/utility industry is key; however, outstanding candidates will be considered, and the business will support individuals with personal development and career progression opportunities.
