Take your career to new heights as a Project Planner/Scheduler at Glanville Environmental. As a Project Planner/Scheduler, you will have the opportunity to work from our multiple depots and offices across the picturesque regions of Cornwall & Devon. You will play a pivotal role in planning/scheduling a wide range of construction projects, from sewer rehabilitation to major civil engineering projects. Collaborating with an experienced team, you will have the chance to work closely with both longstanding and new clients, ensuring their needs are met while contributing to the company’s ongoing success and growth. You will join our Infrastructure team and own the central programme whilst working closely with project managers and teams to develop detailed project plans, defining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements. Utilising project management software, create Gantt charts and critical path analyses to visualise project schedules and identify potential bottlenecks. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to understand project objectives and requirements.
- Collaborate closely with key departments throughout the entire project lifecycle, from pre-construction to post-construction, to produce outline and detailed programmes & then continue to track progress and maintain adherence to the schedule through the whole project lifecycle.
- Develop comprehensive NEC Agreed project plans/programmes, including defining project scope, deliverables, tasks, and timelines using project management software (primarily MS Project)
- Identify critical path activities and dependencies to optimise project timelines.
- Create detailed project schedules using project management software and tools.

- Generate regular progress reports and present them to project managers and stakeholders.
- Provide updates on project status, milestones, and variances from the original plan.
- Assist in identifying potential risks and uncertainties that could impact project timelines.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Manage changes to the project schedule resulting from scope changes or unforeseen events.
- Assess the impact of changes on project timelines and communicating adjustments to PM’s & Stakeholders.
- Ensure Subcontractors and Suppliers programmes are integrated on the overall project programmes.
Skills & Experience:
- Familiarity with project planning, scheduling, and resource management concepts.
- Ability to analyse project data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project managers, team members, and stakeholders.
- Skill in presenting complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Knowledge of project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
- Ability to utilise scheduling techniques like Gantt charts and critical path analysis.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate project schedules and documentation.
- Ability to adapt to changes and adjust schedules as needed.
- Experience in utilities/infrastructure/civil engineering disciplines.
- Relevant construction/engineering/project management qualifications
