Following a series of exciting contract wins and sustained business growth, Glanville Environmental is seeking an experienced and motivated Estimator to join our team.

Based at one of our multiple depots or offices across Cornwall and Devon, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering the various elements of Estimating, from individual technical repairs to major civil engineering projects and full contract tender submissions.

You’ll work closely with a skilled and supportive team, building and strengthening relationships with our well-established client base while welcoming new opportunities. In this role, you will be entrusted with several key activities that will showcase your expertise and abilities:

• Receive job / pricing requests from clients, both internal & external, collate necessary information and input to various management systems.
• The right person will have a good, rounded understanding of NEC contract and experience of its use / application.
• Ideally, we would be keen to see applications from persons with experience of other contract outside of the NEC.
• The right candidate will have the ability through application of agreed contract rates and / or via first principles, build a scope & price for a scheme, based on experience to ensure a competitive / auditable quotation to the client.
• Ensure the companies systems are maintained and updated with relevant information to aid the whole team in their day-to-day tasks.
• Be confident in the use of various computer systems & software programs, predominantly Microsoft Office but also bespoke company systems, to calculate and produce quotations.
• There is also a need to be able to interact with client’s computer systems in entering and interrogating information to facilitate pricing and auditing of ongoing works as well as upcoming schemes.
• The right candidate will be happy interacting with various areas of our business, our clients and our suppliers, in a friendly professional manner.
• The right person for this role will have experience in utilities, preferably in water & sewage but we are also keen on seeing persons with other utility experience, enabling the understanding of the particular management style of the industry.
• Ideally have specific experience in a similar role working within the Water Utility Industry, or groundworks, preferably incorporating knowledge of the public & private sewer network.
• Dynamic and pro-active approach to working, assisting the team in delivery of work effectively and efficiently.
• Have the ability to work as part of a fast-paced team or on one’s own, dealing with smaller technically challenging projects, or larger planned schemes, as well as putting together and promoting full tender submissions, all within SLA’s and hitting key contract KPIs.
