Join our team as a Civils Site Supervisor, operating within the fast-paced environment of reactive drainage contracts. Based at our Galileo Depot in Plympton, (Plymouth) you’ll collaborate with our dedicated civils team to deliver essential drainage repairs for our key clients throughout Devon & Cornwall.

As a Civils Site Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of drainage repair projects. From initial scoping to project completion, your responsibilities will encompass job supervision within a reactive contract framework. We’re seeking an enthusiastic, hardworking individual with a strong motivation to excel in this challenging yet rewarding role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits to gather essential information for scoping and planning purposes.
  • Provide expert advice on scope and design requirements to achieve optimal solutions.
  • Assist in project planning, including coordination with highways and public authorities, resource allocation, and materials management.
  • Utilise computer software, primarily Microsoft Office, to generate comprehensive site documentation and close reports.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills to ensure project completion within set deadlines.
  • Oversee on-site operations from engineering, supervisory, and safety perspectives.
  • Participate in Emergency Out of Hours rota, demonstrating availability during evenings and weekends for reactive works.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications and proven experience in engineering project delivery within the utilities sector, with a focus on water and wastewater domains.
  • Certification in SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Streetworks, including thorough knowledge of traffic control requirements and excavation protocols within highway environments.
  • Exceptional organisational and communication abilities, with demonstrated team management skills.
  • Possession of a valid UK driving license is mandatory.
  • Understanding of Temporary Works principles and associated qualifications.
  • Sound knowledge of deep excavation practices within Utilities, particularly in the drainage sector.
