Job Title: HGV Jet Vac Operative – Drainage

Location: Highbridge (travel across Somerset)
Salary: £34,000 – £38,000 per year (Dependent on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (45 hours per week), with participation in a call-out rota

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated HGV Jet Vac Operative to join our growing drainage team based in Highbridge. You’ll be operating specialist Class 2 HGV jetting vehicles to clean and maintain sewer systems, culverts, and outfalls across the Southwest. This hands-on, mobile role is perfect for those who enjoy practical work, working outdoors, and delivering essential environmental services.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate Class 2 HGV Jet Vac units on highways and client sites
• Use high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear drains and sewers
• Inspect, identify and resolve drainage blockages
• Carry out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance tasks
• Support emergency and reactive works as part of a 24/7 response service
• Maintain accurate job records and follow company safety protocols
• Work flexibly and independently across a range of sites and conditions

What You’ll Need

• Full UK driving licence with Category C (Class 2)
• Valid CPC card and Digital Tachograph
• A safety-first mindset and good attention to detail
• Physically fit and able to work in all weathers
• Flexible to work overtime and take part in a call-out rota
• Comfortable working in and around wastewater environments

Desirable Experience

• CSCS Card
• High-Pressure Water Jetting Certificate
• Confined Space Entry (Medium or High Risk)
• Streetworks (NRSWA) qualification
• Experience in drainage, utilities or highways
